    The satirical graphic art of Vladimir Kozlinsky is only one side of the complex and multi-faceted talent of the artist. Tutored by Mstislav Dobuzhinsky and Leon Bakst, Kozlinsky traveled to Europe studying the works of German and French Old Masters, and later was admitted into the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts.

    After meeting the poet, Vladimir Mayakovsky in 1918, Kozlinsky became involved in the political art of post-revolutionary Russia, creating caricatures for Petrogradskaya pravda and street banners.

    In the 1920-30s, Kozlinsky illustrated an abundant amount of satirical periodicals including Projektor, Bich, Buzoter, Chudak, Smekhach and Begemot. Kozlinsky also created stage decorations and costume designs...
