Walead Beshty's artistic work is dedicated to the industrial processes which surround the production, consumption, and transportation of contemporary art.

One work, a solid 18-inch copper cube modeled after the exact dimensions of a FedEx box, is shipped raw, uncrated via FedEx to and from each location, and each waybill is placed directly on the surface of the piece. The accrued handling marks, labels and oxidation stains are beautiful accretions of chance and imperfections as proof of the work's passage through time and space, positioning the work to be in a constant state of creation.
