About Walter Barron Currier

    Painter, craftsman, illustrator, etcher. Born in Springville, MA on May 3, 1879. Currier was educated at Brown and Cornell universities. Opting for an art career, he studied with Arthur Dow, Eben Comins, and Kenyon Cox. By 1913 he had settled in Los Angeles. While head of the art department of Lincoln High School, he was active in the local art scene. In 1926 he opened the Currier Creative Art School in Santa Monica. He died there on Jan. 11, 1934.
