About Walter Paris

  • Biography

    Watercolorist. Born in London, England in 1842. Paris was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO before visiting the Monterey Peninsula during 1875-76. While there, he shared a studio with his good friend Jules Tavernier. He was an architect with the British government in India during 1886-90 and was again in Colorado in 1891. He became a citizen of the U.S. in 1894 and spent his remaining years in New York and Washington, DC where he died on Nov. 26, 1906. Member: Tile Club (co-founder).
