    Walther Caspari was born in 1869. He was a painter, graphic artist, and illustrator. He is the older brother of Gertrud Caspari.

    He began his training as a businessman. From 1891 to 1893, he studied at the School of Applied Arts Leipzig. From 1893 to 1896, he studied at the art school in Weimar. In 1897, he studied at the Academy of Art, Munich with Paul Hoecker.

    In 1896, he already had a publication of first photographs. In 1906, he worked for the youth active, and from 1897 to 1900, he was the Illustrator for Simplicissimus. In 1906, he had a close collaboration with his sister.
