About Wilhelm Kuhling

    The artist, who worked primarily as a landscape painter, was a student at the Berlin Academy from 1837 to 1844 and undertook study trips through Upper Bavaria, Switzerland, France, and Italy. Between 1844 and 1852, Kühling also worked as a portraitist at the Mecklenburg-Schwerin court, after which he turned exclusively to landscape painting in Berlin. From 1844-1884, he was represented at the Berlin academy exhibitions.
