    Wilhelm Otto Albert Wilcke was a German painter, graphic artist, and monument conservator. He was born in 1885 in Templin, Uckermark, Germany. He studied landscape painting, art history, and pedagogy at the academy in Breslau from 1908 to 1910. He served in the military during World War I and was an officer's pupil and army draftsman from 1916 to 1918. After the war, he continued his studies with Hans Licht and went on numerous study trips. He was a lecturer at the adult education center Schöneberg and the "Diesterweg Hochschule" from 1920 to 1930. He was appointed as a councilor for artistic teaching in 1925.
