William George Whittington - Artist Info

About William George Whittington

  • Biography

My grandfather, a barrister, acted for this artist in a court case and won in the early 1900s.
Whittington apologetically could not pay the Barrister's fee. He offered four paintings in lieu, which my Grand father, S.A.Kyffin, reluctantly accepted.

I live in Sydney Australia and still have the four paintings hanging on the wall. They are of the Thames near the Pool of London, the Thames Estuary, and out in the North Sea. All feature the famous red-sailed Thames.

They are all signed "Whittington" and are instantly recognizable as by the same artist pictures featured on you website.

    Regards, Tony Nieland
