    William Henry Pike was born in Plymouth (England), a landscape and genre painter in oil and watercolour who exhibited from 1874. In 1874 he moved to London and two addresses are listed, in 1881, 14 Eton Villas, Haverstock Hill, N.W. and in 1888, St. Ronans, Park Road, Haverstock Hill, N.W. His home address was listed as 41 Tavistock Place.

    His active years, from 1880 – 1907 saw him exhibit 39 times at the Royal British Academy, 37 times at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, twice at the Royal Academy, 3 times at the Royal Hibernian Academy and 15 times at the Royal Institute.

    Pike was invited to join the Royal British Academy in 1889 and the Royal Institute in 1890.
