Born in Wuhan in 1941. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the National Arts School. He has been a professor of Hubei Art College and Hubei Painting College, mentor of postgraduates, vice chancellor of Hubei Art College, member of the Chinese Painters' Association, Councilor of Hubei Painters' Association and Oil Painting Institute as well as having been a member of the communist party. Since his student days, his paintings have been selected by national and international exhibitions, including solo exhibitions held in Wuhan, Taipei and Paris.
