Yoel Benharrouche was born in Cheer Cheva (Israel) in 1961. In 1974 he moved to Nice. There he studied at the School of Fine Arts, at the same time he occupied himself intensively with his Jewish tradition. In 1993 he returned to Israel and lives in a village of the Judean desert with his family. Here he discovered the extraordinary beauty of his homeland.

He paints and draws in shades of vibrant color. Benharrouche works as a painter in diverse techniques; he often adds crumpled rags, paper clippings from newspapers or magazines making up collages. For him the artistic creation process is a highly emotional process in which he celebrates the creator and the creation.
