In 1953 she was inducted into the Salon d'Automne*. Wally Findlay Galleries began representing her in 1957, hosting her first one-woman show in the United States. She has won numerous awards due to the lively sensitivity of her paintings and her firm and balanced compositions.
Her canvasses are painted with a mature technique, forcefully, with textured paint radiating a natural and joyful dynamism. Her painting has a lot in common with the Fauves*. This is understandable, when you see her strongly colored palette, and the spontaneous expression of what she feels with her brush she transmits forcefully.
The French Government, the City of Paris, the Musee de la Marine, the Musee de Saint-Mur, the Musee de Saint-Cyprien and the Musee de Saint-Denis have all purchased her paintings.

A French-based artist who has exhibited extensively in the United States as well as her native country, Yolande Ardissone paints marine scenes, landscapes and floral still life in style that combines Naiveté and Impressionism and with bright colors, is influenced by Fauvism.
She has traveled widely in addition to the United States, including to Spain, Algeria, China, Thailand, Russia, Egypt and Indonesia, but most of her paintings are of Brittany. She credits Gaughin, Van Gogh and Renoir as major influences.
Ardissone was born in Normandy in 1927 to a Ukrainian mother and Italian father. She began her art studies at age seventeen in Paris at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués and then enrollments followed at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiére, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Atelier of Unterstellar.
For artistic excellence, she received the Médaille d'Argent from the city of Paris, which also has acquired her work for the city collection.
