    A painter, sculptor, photographer, draftsman, architect, and computer graphic artist, Zdzislaw Beksinski studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Kraków University of Technology from 1947 to 1952. After graduating, he began working in Kraków, then in Rzeszów, returning to his hometown in 1955 and taking up a position as a visual artist at the local Autosan factory. It was in Sanok that he began his artistic career, initially focusing on photography, sculpture, and drawing. His wife, Zofia, whom he married in 1951, posed for many of his groundbreaking photographs. The artist often rendered the photographs and drawings he created during this period unrealistic; in turn, his reliefs suggest the Tachisme style that dominated the 1950s, whi...
