The artist Xu Zhen founded MadeIn Company in 2009 and introduces the company as follows: "It focuses on the power to create and produce art and strives to explore the infinite possibilities of contemporary culture."  In 2013, Xu Zhen himself became an artistic brand promoted by this company.

MadeIn breaks all the conventional notions of artistic creation, collecting, production, consumption, and copyright in order to redefine them in China and experiment with different possibilities in the Chinese art environment.  This no doubt recalls the views of Andy Warhol, the father of American Pop Art, and his successor Jeff Koons.  MadeIn Company's "products" subvert the definition of art in China and beyond, satirizing...
