He also paints western genre, specializing in Indians and has been an illustrator. Carpenter was born in Long Beach, California and was in in the United States Air Force in the 1950s. In 1960, he and his wife, Millie, having set out to explore the country from California, got no further than Arizona, living first in Sedona and later in Phoenix and from 1978 in Flagstaff. In...
