He came over to America in June of 1914 when he jumped ship in New Orleans and swam to shore. He was actively doing his art to support himself and his wife, Minnie Ross Wessolowski, until his death in 1947. He had an artificial eye. He was actively doing his art to support himself and his wife, Minnie Ross Wessolowski, until his death in 1947. He had an artificial eye. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri; New York City and Connecticut. He was born in Graudenz, Germany on August 19, 1893, and died in Westport Connecticut in 1947. I heard he was Polish.
