His oils and watercolors were exhibited throughout New England, with numerous submissions to the Poland Spring Art Exhibitions over a twenty-year period. His paintings often depicted historical subjects, usually ships and maritime events, which represent his best works. He was a member of the Boston Art Club and the Boston Society of Watercolor Painters.
