He was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv and worked additionally as a conservator and restorer of Ukrainian buildings and sculptures. He was a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lviv and worked additionally as a conservator and restorer of Ukrainian buildings and sculptures. Epstein lived in Poland from 1957 to 1959, where he received a scholarship by the Polish minister for Art and Culture. He emigrated to Israel in 1959, where he settled in Bat-Yam.
