Salt moved to the United States in 1967, becoming a Photo-Realist after initially doing abstract* painting. His international exhibition venues include Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. John Salt's work was also included in the exhibition "Get Real: Contemporary American Realism from the Seavest Collection", in 1997, at the Duke University Museum of Art. A catalogue was also published. His paintings were exhibited, as well in "The Hidden Hand: John Salt", from December 12, 2003 to March 7, 2004, at the Southampton City Art Gallery, England....
