Kathleen Frances Pepper (née Daly) studied at the Ontario College of Art (1920-24); the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, Paris (1924-25); wood engraving with René Pottier in Paris; and at the Parsons School of Design, New York (1926). In 1924 she began taking annual trips to France and Italy. She married artist George Pepper in 1929, and the couple traveled and painted extensively.
