An early 20th-century illustrator working in New York City, Lawrence L Wilbur should not be confused with Lawrence Nelson Wilbur. Note submitted March 2005 from Clare Ivey Colton. Lawrence L Wilbur painted portraits in addition to illustrations. In the 1950's Wilbur painted a large and beautiful portrait of my mother, Evelyn P. Ivey, a New Jersey physician.
