She studied in Seattle under Leon Derbyshire and Alma Lorraine. We know Rice’s medium was oil paint and her subjects included portraits because an oil painting by her titled “Head of Christ” is noted in the book Who's Who in Northwest Art (see sources) published in 1941 presumably while Rice was alive...
