Arriving in Mexico City, he began his career making his first comics in the magazine Chamaco Chico, then published several autobiographical storybooks and collaborated for the newspaper Ovaciones and published Los Tarzanes and Los Mariachis in the magazine Pinocho. In 1946, he traveled to New York, where he spent three years making illustrations for advertisements.
