Adelaide was a self styled artist who was not satisfied with her art ability, so she went to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. There she met Zula Kenyon, who became her teacher and mentor. She taught in the art department of Ohskosh College around 1916, but upon Kenyon's recommendation, attained a position at the Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company and relocated to... Read full biography

Adelaide was a self styled artist who was not satisfied with her art ability, so she went to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. There she met Zula Kenyon, who became her teacher and mentor. She taught in the art department of Ohskosh College around 1916, but upon Kenyon's recommendation, attained a position at the Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company and relocated to Joliet, Illinois around 1918. She married once, but it seems her husband did not keep good company, and was killed shortly after the marriage, and her family never even learned his real name. She never remarried.
