Nevinson and Stanley Spencer. He became one of the founding members of the Camden Town Group and, with other members, joined with the Vorticists to form The London Group in 1913. In the summer of 1914 he worked with Walter Sickert in Dieppe. A pacifist, Allinson associated himself with the Bloomsbury Group during the First World War. Following the war he travelled to Switzerland and the Mediterranean and it was during these years that Allinson produced a few woodcuts and wood engravings – all of which are now rare.
