Landscape and marine painter Alexander Williams studied at the RDS Drawing Schools. In 1870 he first exhibited at the RHA and from then until 1930 he showed no fewer than 450 works and never missed a single exhibition in sixty years. He was also a member of the Belfast Art Society. His first London show was at the Modern Gallery, Bond Street in 1901. In the NGI he is represented by his oil 'Rocky Cliffs By The Sea' and by a watercolour 'A House By A River'.
