Angelo Barovier is the son of the well-known art glass designer and manufacturer Ercole Barovier. The Baroviers belong to a long lineage of glass craftsman dating back to 1324; they are the world's oldest family of glass-workers and the fifth oldest business in the world. The Baroviers rose to prominence during the Italian Renaissance in Murano. Angelo took over the Barovier & Toso company upon Ercole's death in 1972.
