Anna Billing was born in 1849, in Sweden. Her father was the artist Tore Billing and her mother, Elma Power, was a famous opera singer who was appointed as the successor to Jenny Lind. Anna grew up in an artist's home where a large number of the most prominent cultural personalities of the day spent time. Anna Billing was a student of her father as well as Johan Christoffer Flourish, August Malmström, and Kerstin Cardon. On a study trip to Paris, she was also a student of the flower painter... Anna Billing was born in 1849, in Sweden. Her father was the artist Tore Billing and her mother, Elma Power, was a famous opera singer who was appointed as the successor to Jenny Lind. Anna grew up in an artist's home where a large number of the most prominent cultural personalities of the day spent time. Anna Billing was a student of her father as well as Johan Christoffer Flourish, August Malmström, and Kerstin Cardon. On a study trip to Paris, she was also a student of the flower painter Georges Jeannin. While in France, she exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1884. Anna also exhibited her painting "Birches" at the Stockholm Exhibition of 1897. She is represented in the National Museum and Gothenburg Art Museum. Anna Billing was one of the... Read full biography
Anna Billing was born in 1849, in Sweden. Her father was the artist Tore Billing and her mother, Elma Power, was a famous opera singer who was appointed as the successor to Jenny Lind. Anna grew up in an artist's home where a large number of the most prominent cultural personalities of the day spent time. Anna Billing was a student of her father as well as Johan Christoffer Flourish, August Malmström, and Kerstin Cardon.
