His style shows influences by Henri Rousseau, Vincent van Gogh, and expressionism. Because of his mental instability and several stays in a sanatorium, Ligabue was posthumously called a representative of ‘Art Brut’. Works by the artist can be found at the Museum of his city of residence, Gualtieri in the Po Valley. In 1978, the Italian film director Salvatore Nocita produced a film on Ligabue’s...
