In 1966 he enrolled the Preparatory Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts under the instruction of Nikos Nikolaou. He next attended classes at the painting studio of Yannis Moralis and studied History of Art alongside Pandelis Prevelakis (1909-1986). During the last two years of his studies he became a fellow of ASFA, from which he graduated with Honors in 1971.
