Bunmi Babatunde was born in Nigeria, in 1957. He studied sculpture at the Yaba college of Technology, graduating in 1983. Babatunde has been a practicing studio artist in Yaba since 1984. Together with Bisi Fakeye, Monday Akhidue and Abiodun Olaku, he is a founding member of The Universal Studios of Art, Nigeria. Omidan, which is the Yoruba word for a young woman or "damsel", is inspired by traditional Yoruba carved sculpture known as Oju Orogbo. Babatunde has participated in over twenty-five...
