Karl Alexander Brendel was a German artist born in Weimar in 1877. He was the son of painter Albert Brendel and studied at the Weimar School of Art with Carl Frithjof Smith. He furthered his education at the Académie Julian in Paris and the Unterrichtsanstalt am Königlichen Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin. Brendel was a master student of Albert Hertel and Paul Friedrich Meyerheim at the Berlin Academy. He was also a member of various art associations and exhibited his work at several art exhibitions... Brendel lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg before moving to Buschmühle near Frankfurt an der Oder in 1911. He died in Frankfurt/Oder in 1945.
