She was a Dutch painter and sculptor and, belonging to the group of figurative abstraction, is considered to be one of the most important Dutch sculptresses of the twentieth century. Charlotte van Pallandt, born September 24, 1898 and died July 30, 1997, was born in Arnhem, the Netherlands with the full name of Charlotte Dorothée Baroness van Pallandt. She was a Dutch painter and sculptor and, belonging to the group of figurative abstraction, is considered to be one of the most important Dutch sculptresses of the twentieth century. Already in her youth van Pallandt turned out to be very talented and was drawing, painting and playing the piano. For a woman to have a career as an artist in those days was not an obvious choice. After her marriage to the diplomat, Count Adolph of Judges ended in 1923 (they were married for four years), she went her own way. Until 1928 she worked as a painter, and from 1929 she began to...
