The sculptor David Mesly, whose real name is Michel Robert, was a French artist who was born in an unknown year and studied sculpture with his father before attending a school in Montparnasse in Paris. He created naturalistic bronze sculptures made by direct carving and exhibited his works at various salons and galleries in France. He created naturalistic bronze sculptures made by direct carving and exhibited his works at various salons and galleries in France. He also worked as a copyist for the Monuments Historiques and received a commission from the State for the statue of the Tour d'Auvergne in Quimper. He continued his work in the restoration of historic monuments until 1981 and worked in the studio of the Italian sculptor Antoniucci Volti. In 1996, he entrusted the exclusivity of his sculpted work to Jean-Paul Villain's gallery in Paris, where he chose the... Read full biography

He created naturalistic bronze sculptures made by direct carving and exhibited his works at various salons and galleries in France. He also worked as a copyist for the Monuments Historiques and received a commission from the State for the statue of the Tour d'Auvergne in Quimper. He continued his work in the restoration of historic monuments until 1981 and worked in the studio of the Italian sculptor Antoniucci Volti. In 1996, he entrusted the exclusivity of his sculpted work to Jean-Paul Villain's gallery in Paris, where he chose the pseudonym of David Mesly. He died in 2004 and was honored by the gallery after his death.
