He was educated partly there and partly in Changi, Singapore, and studied at Glasgow School of Art under David Donaldson and James Robertson in mid-1970s. Showed at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, RSW and RSA and had a series of solo shows, including Studio Nis in Lewis, 1977–9, and Corners Gallery, Glasgow, 1982–3.
