Always wanting to be an artist when he grew up, Eduardo briefly studied at the School of Arts of Deba and the Circle of Fine Arts, where he was taught by the painter Antonio López. He also studied at the School of Arts and Trades in Madrid. Between age 17 and 20, he sculpted in stone, alabaster, and also worked with terracotta and bronze.
