It is, however, Paris and the restless ferment of latter day artistic effort which have had the most pronounced influence upon him as, indeed, upon so many of the younger Copenhagen painters of his generation. He has lately joined the Frie Udstilling* where his recent canvases displayed distinct traces of that wave of wholesome radicalism which is at present causing consternation among the ranks of the timid and conservative devotees of precedent.
