Edwin Megargee was an animal painter, illustrator, and etcher. He was born in 1883 in Mt. Airy , Pennsylvania. Throughout his educational career, he attended Georgetown University from 1899 to 1900, Drexel Institute in Philadelphia from 1900 to 1904, and finally the Art Students League from 1904 to 1905. He was a breeder and painter of gun dogs and wrote and illustrated several illustrated dog dictionaries. He also painted horses, cattle and cock-fighting scenes. The running greyhound logo for... The running greyhound logo for the Greyhond Bus Co. was designed by Megargee. He was on the board of directors of the American Kennel Club.
