Sekret studied at the Kiev Academy and was further educated in Odessa, at the Städelsches Kunstinstitut Frankfurt am Main and in Paris. Eugen was temporarily active in Yugoslavia and received commissions from the Yugoslav King here and became an art teacher to the Yugoslav Queen.
