Blanc and Thomas Couture. After three years in Europe, he shared business pursuits with his brother that included a trip to Alaska. Returning to art, he attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts under Thomas Anshutz, William Merritt Chase, and Cecilia Beaux.
