At the end of the Spanish Civil War, Farreras and his family moved to Murcia where he began to study the basics of painting in the studio of the painter Antonio Gómez Cano (1940). He attended evening courses of painting and drawing in the School of Arts and Crafts in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, under the tutelage of Prof. Mariano de CossÌo (1941). Farreras entered the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid from which he graduated in 1949 with the degree of Professor of Painting and Drawing.
