He is the son of Russell and Caroline Green, his father coming to Chicago in 1836 and engaging in the lumber business. Mr. Green showed early an artistic propensity, his pencil coming as naturally to his hand as a top or knife to the fingers of an average boy. Mr. Green showed early an artistic propensity, his pencil coming as naturally to his hand as a top or knife to the fingers of an average boy.
