George W. Jardine was born and lived in Wallasey, Cheshire. He attended Wallasey School of Art, 1936, and Royal College of Art, 1939 - 43. From 1944 - 80 he was a lecturer in graphics at Liverpool College of Art. Jardine` s own pictures were early influenced by Indian miniature painting and Surrealism, especially Max Ernst.
