During his early 20's Ratkai, who is self-taught, worked for two years in an automobile factory in Paris and spent nights painting industriously. In 1927 the artist came to the United States and has lived and worked in New York since then. One of the top illustrators of the country many years, he turned to fine art when he felt he wanted to paint as he himself wished. He has been invited to exhibit in several national group shows and his work, which was included in the "Artists for Victory" Exhibition, received high critical acclaim. He will be accorded...
