A German painter and lithographer, he was active in Düsseldorf. Born in Düsseldorf, Heinrich Hermanns studied at the Academy in Düsseldorf from 1883 to 1893. His teachers were, for instance, the landscape painter Eugen Dücker, whose master student he became in 1889. In the same year Hermanns and a number of other Dücker-students founded the ‘Lucas-Club’, which was intended to be an advanced association of landscape painters.
