Hermann Tiebert, known as Germ, was a German artist born in 1895 in Koblenz, Germany. He was a representative of the New Objectivity art movement and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Karlsruhe and Kunstakademie Karlsruhe with various artists. Germ was a board member of the Freie Künstlervereinigung Baden and member of the Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally, including the Venice Biennale in 1938. Germ declined a professorship at the Dresden Academy in 1943 and was included in the "Gottbegnadetenliste" in 1944. He was a representative of the New Objectivity art movement and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Karlsruhe and Kunstakademie Karlsruhe with various artists. Germ was a board member of the Freie Künstlervereinigung Baden and member of the Reichsverband bildender Künstler Deutschlands. He participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally, including the Venice Biennale in 1938.
