William J. "Jack" Hines was born in Omaha, Nebraska on May 2, 1923, just a short distance from the Platte River in eastern Nebraska. From the days of earliest memories he heard the stories of westward exploration, indians and river men. Throughout his extensive art career those memories have held sway in his mind, demanding to be set down pictorally. He settled in Big Timber, Montana in 1971 with his wife, Jessica Zemsky. Throughout his extensive art career those memories have held sway in his mind, demanding to be set down pictorally. He settled in Big Timber, Montana in 1971 with his wife, Jessica Zemsky. Jack Hines along with his wife, Jessica Zemsky, were founding members of the Northwest Rendezvous Group. Jack Hines passed away on June 20, 2015.
