He is a graduate of Iowa State University veterinary school and was a practicing veterinarian for about twenty years before becoming a professional artist. He has participated in the Mountain Oyster Club Show in Tucson, the Coors Western Art Show, and in 1996 received the Artists' Choice Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show in Cody, Wyoming....
