It was there that he was first introduced to the Scottish Colourists and the Glasgow Boys,admiring their bold use of colour and Powerful draughtsmanship. Having already been influenced by Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Cezanne and Van Gogh, John was eager to experiment with their various styles and techniques.
