José Palmeiro was born in Madrid and followed the tradition of French Impressionism and Post-Cubism. He created an impressive oeuvre comprising of still lifes, landscapes and figural compositions. His artistic career began in 1925 when he went to Paris and met Spanish painters like Ginés Parra (1896-1960) and Óscar Domínguez (1906-1958).
